Job Description


Providing effective representation both collectively and individually in meetings with management.

Delivering accurate advice and information on workplace issues.

Focus on recruiting new members to the CWU.

Communicating up to date information on national and local issues involving the CWU.

Keeping the CWU noticeboard/workplace WhatsApp group up to date.

Ensuring that all members are treated in a fair and equal manner.

Acting as a focal point for all CWU members in the office. 

Taking an active role in branch meetings.

LEARNING  OFFICER.


Learning Officer Job Description

.

Support and improve the learning culture within the Branch.

Organize Learning Activities

Promote lifelong learning to CWU member's and the wider community.

Research and analysis the learning needs of the member's.

To arrange with the assistance of Norfolk Learning and Skills Council, local colleges and/or local management appropriate learning or training courses.

Compile a directory of local and online learning  opportunities

Support members during their learning Journey.

Attend Branch committee meetings and report back to the Branch

Attend learning various learning events.



YOUNG WORKERS OFFICER (MUST BE THE AGE OF 30 OR UNDER TO APPLY):


To represent all young members in the branch (16-30 years of age). To advise other Union Officers in respect to the youth members issues. To recruit new young members. To attend Youth Conferences where necessary. To report to Branch Committee.



VACANT AREA ROLES


Deputy Area Safety Rep


To cover the Area Safety Rep where necessary, Annual Leave or Long term sick. To support the Area Safety Rep where necessary, at H&S meetings and in the workplace.

Deputy Area Processing Rep


To cover the Area Processing Rep for leave or long-term sick and give support to the role of Area Delivery Rep where necessary.




DISTRIBUTION SHIFT REP

 

 

LATE SHIFT


Distribution shift rep- to negotiate for the distribution members on the said shift. Must be willing to take appropriate training. Must be willing to take part and be a member of the Mail Centre reps committee. Must be a member of the distribution function and a member of the said shift that they are applying for.

Successful candidates for all the roles advertised must be prepared to receive training up to the necessary standard and to attend refresher training as and when necessary.

Successful candidates must also be prepared to attend Branch Meetings and possibly CWU Forum’s in different parts of the Country, which means staying away from home on occasions
